Solon Storage Practice Space to End Historic, Fruitful Life by AC
#207 at Solon Storage will never be the same. AC announced today that it's lease will not be renewed. A closing date of September 5, 2005 was also announced. "It's a sad day for Solon, for Dillweed, for The Reacharounds, for music in general," AC said. "The place was an institution."
A general sense of indifference gripped the owner of Solon Storage as the announcement was made. No fanfare was made of it's demise.
In it's heyday, the space was used by the seminal punk band, The Reacharounds. Such classics as "Insensitivity Training, BITCH!" and "My City" as well as "All Jesused Out on Fat Chicks" were written in the space.
Later on, it carried on it's storied influence on the popular rockband, Dillweed. Highlights from this era of #207's history include "Three Crosses", "Untitled #42" and "Soul Sucking World".
In the end, it's presence became a financial liability. In conversations with AC, he has indicated that a return to Solon Stoarage would not be out of the question. "If it's a viable situation where a practice space would be needed, I have been assured by the owners that we could re-enter the facility when we need to. After trading the crappy Ampeg amp that was out there, we actually came out ahead but to everything there is an end."
