Well today I drove up to Franklin, TN to go to Bruce Campbell's book signing. The drive up there was long. I was lost when I first walked into the Barnes and Nobel there, because I had never been there before. I walked around for a few minutes and got a number for the line. I met this lady who was probably about 30. I talked to her about the Necronomicon version of Evil Dead and other things. I had gotten #80 in line, but she happend to have an extra ticket. She gave me her extra one so I was then #40 in line. I talked to her and a couple of other people while waiting for the line to progress. When I had finally gotten to Bruce, I handed him my book and DVD. I then proceded to say very idiotic and dumb things. I acutally think I might have made him slightly mad. I didn't really get to talk to him much anyways.
To sum it all up, I must say this was like my first time having sex. I was really excited and the experience was good up until I got there, it didn't last long and I was left confused and disappointed.
I heard people talking about how cool Bruce is at comic book conventions because he's more personal. It was good though, to meet the man that stared in the Evil Dead movies and wrote two great books.

Shit man.. sounds like a blast! Did Bruce charge for the autographs? What did you say to him? Just curious... No charge for autographs. If you want a DVD signed, you only get one signed. You have to have a copy of the book to get a ticket in line. Or atleast at the signing in Nashville. I told Bruce "Hey, you should play the Joker in the new Batman film." and he replied with something like "I should play nothin', those new movies are a load of crap." So the I stupidly proceded to "Hey Bruce, will you sign my jet ski?" and he said "No I won't". Bruce was in a pissy mood the whole day from what I hear. I thought I had pissed him off with what I said, but I think he was already pissed off. Either he was having a bad day or he hates Tennessee. Bruce wasn't exactly the nice guy you hear about on that day. I was extremely nervous, so I said some pretty stupid things. Oh well, maybe I'll get a chance to redeem myself.

This was a kick ass day. Campbell was very entertaining and at the top of his game. He began the day with a Q&A session where he answered a lot of cool fanboy questions. I asked him if he enjoyed reprising his role as Ash in the videogames or if it was just another paycheck to him. He said he liked it and then plugged his new evil dead game with him and Ted Rami starring. When it came time for the book signing we all were giving numbers. I got number 39. They said they would sign 30 people at a time and asked that the first 30 people come up for the signing. No sooner did they say that then half of the crowd got up and ran down to get their schwag signed. I looked at the line and counted about 100 people in it. I noticed people in line with numbers in the 100's. You would think at this point they would check numbers and get people to sit down and be orderly but they just allowed it all to happen. So I ended up waiting for about a half hour until i got in line. It didnt matter because I got to the goal of the line eventually anyway. Bruce was a really cool nice guy to me and the fam. he asked what I do for a living and I told him I was a musician. He went on to call me an "arteast". Anna was pretty starstruck and judging by Campbells reaction to her he found it quite cute as he spoke to her often. Anyway, I also got my Bubba Hotep dvd signed as well. AC joined us for the showing of Man with the Screaming Brain. Campbell spoke for awhile at that as well. He had a pretty amusing story about how he hated Peter Jackson because Bruce needed a black horse for a film he was making and Peter Jackson had bought every single black horse across 3 countries. He also mentioned the new Batman movie which made me think of Zwitter on this board. He thought it was garbage I guess. Though it was basiclly because he wishes Hollywood would have some new ideas. Anyway, very entertaining night. The movie was decent for a Sci Fi channel flick. here is a pic of my back and B.C.

Damn, he loves that fucking shirt. He wore that at the signing in Tennessee.
So did he say why he hated Batman Begins or did he just say its garbage again?
Oh yeah, did you happen to find out why he was so pissy at the TN signing?

He said that he didn't like it because its another Hollywood rehash. He said people would tell him "but this one is good!"
and he would reply to that by saying "maybe so, but it took them 5 tries to get it right!"
he had a big long rant about how B movies are where all the good ideas come from and if you look at Hollywood’s top movies right now they are all rehashes or sequels.
As far as him being pissy, I don’t know. He is kind of a sarcastic cheese ball but he was pretty jolly here.

Yeah, I guess Bruce has somewhat of an ego. I can't really blame him though.
Yeah B movies are good, but that doesn't mean all the A movies suck. Alot of the A movies out now do suck.
Anyways, I bought The Machinist. It's a great movie, you should check it out.

I agree with you about the A movies and I think Campbell would too. I think he just wants quality scripts back in cinema and not these rehashes. Not that he has had many quality scripts come his way.
I put the Machinist in my netflix que. I'm looking forward to it.

I put the Machinist in my netflix que. I'm looking forward to it. Well I think Bruce really isn't giving any of the new remakes a chance at all. Batman Begins is hands down the best Batman flick of all time now. It's not even a remake, it's just a new Batman film. I think Bruce has gotten a little too closed-minded on remakes anyways. What about the Evil Dead remake? Why the hell remake that? Is Bruce being hypocritical and not realizing it? Anyway, we're all entitled to our opinions, even B movie kings like Bruce Campbell. I like to try to keep an open mind with movies myself. Anyways, watch the Machinist. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I did. It's a very cool movie. On another note, I got a job at a Carmike cinema today. So I got in free to watch The Skeleton Key. It was interesting for the most part. It had a really cool ending too. If you haven't seen it, check it out and you might like it.

He refused to answer any questions about it, Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, and Evil Dead 4. Then again, matybe its because he is on this rant right now.

I got my pictures in the mail today. I got a crap load of copies of one or two of different pictures. I'm really glad I met that lady there that took them.
Anyway, I can't wait for Alien Apacolypse and Man With The Screaming Brain to come out on DVD on the 4th of "Oktober".

I'd love to see the pics if you want to post them. As far as the dvds go, I'll probably grab Man With The Screaming Brain but not so sure about Alien Apacolypse. Have you seen those yet? Yikes!

Well I don't have a scanner so I wouldn't be able to post pics that are very visible.
I saw both movies. Alien Apocalypse is a really funny movie. I haven't seen all of Man With The Screaming Brain yet so I can't give it a full opinion yet.
